M. HAYNES SCOTT
M. HAYNES SCOTT

Growing up on the beach in La Jolla, California, M. Haynes Scott was the kid elbow deep in sand creating sculptures or off by herself sketching and painting.

Winning local and national art competitions by the age of 14, Marci began taking on commissions and focusing on her preferred medium, watercolor.

She has done paintings and illustrations for such notable clients as Coors, Justin Boots, Crown Royal, several national greeting card companies, the Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association, the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, the National Finals Rodeo and Western Styles Magazine, Bits and Pieces, Star Sports, Artists of Colorado, the Cowboy Sport, Artists of the Rocky Mountains and children's books.

Awards have included the prestigious Arts for the Parks competition, the American Artist Magazine, The Artist's Magazine and best of show in several art shows.

Far from the beach, these days Marci and her husband manage a 2,200 acre ranch at the base of the continental divide in Colorado where opportunity abounds for inspiration of the western and wildlife genre that Marci devotes her energy to.

Her love of the natural sciences shows in her studio which harbors wildlife photos she takes while out riding, antler sheds, animal skins, feathers and skulls.  She also keeps her camera ready when working with cattle, on trail rides with friends or shooting at local rodeos.

Marci donates her art for fund raising at animal rescue organizations.
